I first met this wonderfully warm couple while they were touring my renovated bungalow during Modernism Week in 2019. In a happy coincidence, we soon discovered they were from Chicago and lived just down the street from me there.

They initially hired me to design their Chicago lakefront condominium (see the Comfort at the Carlile project), and soon after, we began working on their first home in Palm Springs. The house was a beautifully designed spec home—a crisp white box with breathtaking mountain views, but very little personality. Our goal was to make it truly theirs.

Rather than rushing the process, we worked thoughtfully over several years, designing the home room by room as their connection to the desert deepened. Some spaces embrace bold, colorful Palm Springs energy, while others remain calm and understated, creating balance while showcasing their growing art collection and beloved baby grand piano.

Careful details bring warmth and character throughout—from botanical wallpaper in the laundry room to a dramatic custom chandelier by SkLO in the dining room. An outdoor shower adds a private resort-like moment, while acoustic wood paneling in the living room subtly enhances both texture and sound.

In 2025, the home became the first residence in the Escena Golf Club neighborhood to be featured on the Modernism Week Signature Home Tour.

During the tour, a visitor described it as “the happiest home” they had ever seen. Noticing the homeowners’ small sculptures honoring Diana Ross and the Supremes, they dubbed it “The Supreme House.”
The name stuck—and it feels just right. ✨
